Lt Mayowa Areago who graduated from Nigerian Defence Academy in 2012 (Photo above) and was posted almost immediately to the North to help in the fight against Boko Haram was shot dead 3 days ago while trying to retreat from the battle front in Borno state. One of his distraught friends upon hearing of the incidence said: . . "Please help us appeal to the government to give our military the right weapons to defend this nation. A lot of innocent people have died to defend you and I. I really want all Nigerians to celebrate this young, gallant, combatant Nigerian Army officer. Rest in the bosom of the Lord "Area"."..... d FG insists d blame is on USA who has refused to allow us buy sophisticated weapons. R.I.P Mayowa.
