A 23-year-old fisherman identified as Mohammed, lost his life in
a tragic circumstances when he fell into a river in Unguwar Ashara,
Abaji town, a satellite town in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory,
reports Daily Trust.
The incident which happened
on Friday, April 10, 2015, has thrown the community into confusion as
the deceased is said to be an excellent swimmer and people are wondering
how he could drown in a river which is his habitat.
The
incident, according to an eyewitness, occurred at about 4:34 pm after
the deceased who was at the river to fish, slipped while at the bank and
fell into the river.
He was said to have parked
the motorcycle he rode to the river at the riverbank, pulled his cloth
and suddenly fell into the river afterwards without the knowledge of
anybody.
It was gathered that of the deceased
became apprehensive when he did not show up at home after the end of the
day’s job and they went searching for him only to discover his body at
the riverbank.
